MATILDE is a work conceived by Jose Vidal as a tribute to Matilde Pérez, a Chilean painter and sculptor, internationally renowned as an important exponent of kinetic art. Conceived to commemorate the 100 years of the artist's birth, the work is also a celebration of multidisciplinary creativity that brings into dialogue Vidal's choreography with the visual projections of Delightlab, the original music of Diego Noguera, the costumes of Sisa collection and the interpretation of the performers.


Inspired by the dynamics between form, light and color, constitutive of the kinetic art, MATILDE_ composes a scenic language from body and visual geometries that refer to the abstraction, the optical illusion and the cultivated expression of the artist. The choreographic result is the baroque minimalism: few elements taken to their maximum level of combinatorial.


Matilde was a co-production between Corpartes, Balmaceda Arte Joven and Jose Vidal & Cia and has been presented at the Corpartes Theatre (2015), at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Centre (2016) and at the Talca Regional Theatre (2017).
