Emergenz creates a thoroughly social, interpersonal experience, conveyed through a large-scale, interdisciplinary as well as intercultural dance performance: alongside 47 professional Chilean and German dancers, 54 citizens are included as equal performers in the powerful choreography. Over the entire duration of the performance, the choreography merely forms grids and frames within which as many lines of freedom as possible are left to all participants: thus the performers* are encouraged at all times to draw from themselves, to improvise, to listen to each other, to the space, the light and the sound and to react.


The musical composition is created in reaction to the performers. During each performance live/newly light and video projections in turn, react to the music and the singing of the performers.


Thus, EMERGENZ itself becomes an ecosystem whose rules elude mere understanding. A piece about the emergence in emergence.
